Yes, at the San Diego Comic-Con, I'll buy one member of the INNER HIVE a beer and give him/her a signed/sketched Tom the Dancing Bug book. INNER HIVE members have the details in their inboxes, as well their regular early delivery of this week's comic...
I did this presentation on Super-Fun-Pak Comix for the comedy show Adult Ed last week, and had no idea it was being filmed. Nor do I know how it ended up on YouTube. (I was just alerted to its existence on Twitter.) But legal considerations aside, I thought I'd share it here.
Terrible video and terrible audio doesn't make for a very satisfying viewing experience. Plus I was told just before going up that the show was running long so I had to cut my talk on the fly, which I did as artfully as I could (i.e., not very artfully). But if you're really, really interested and like to squint, here is an explanation of Super-Fun-Pak Comix, complete with Comedy Secrets Revealed, and the really fun part: reading the comics.
IN this week's Gweek podcast, Rainn Wilson joins Mark Frauenfelder, Michael Pustaeri and me. It was great fun talking with Rainn; he's a fasincating guy with diverse interests. And he invited me to the weekly Celebrity Meeting! (He didn't give me the address, but I assume if I show up at Hollywood, USA wearing sunglasses, a Celebrity Greeter will show me the way).
Got this beautiful Popeye compilation book (Fantagraphics) a couple of days ago. Haven't had a chance to even crack it open, but my son is now running around going "Arf, arf."
TOMORROW (TUESDAY) EVENING, I'll be doing a presentation at the monthly NYC comedy show Adult Education, pontificating on the theme of "cliches" and trying hard to find a point to the extremely pointless feature, Super-Fun-Pak Comix.
Other performers are Timothy Burke, Annia Ciezadlo, Ken Wheaton and host Charles Star.
HUMOROUS VOICES will be attempted. COMEDY SECRETS will be revealed. FUN will be had.
