Seriously, this is one of the reasons I've always loved Boing Boing. They bring things to my attention that should be front page news, but are barely even reported on.
I'm not even talking about Xeni and others' essential blog and twitter coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement and the criminally underreported police backlash.
Cory just wrote that there's a new book collecting Dr. Seuss stories that haven't been reprinted since their original publication 60 or 70 years ago! And these aren't marginal pieces, but fully realized Seuss material that stand alongside the rest of his work?!
If there has been any news coverage of this, I've missed it. And as much as I've tried, I have not missed the journalistic / media frenzy that greeted the triumphant return of the McRib sandwich.
People, Dr. Seuss is one of the most important artists of the 20th century. This is a cause for national celebration. I can not wait to see it.

UPDATE and SIDE NOTE to the publisher of this book: I haven't seen the titles to the six other stories collected, but I'd be very surprised if none of them yielded a better book title than "The Bippolo Seed."
