Reading Doug Templeton's Sandbox piece DRIVING IN AFGHANISTAN reminded me of some of the posts I've written on my blog on the same subject. I've been in many countries, including several in the Third World, and the driving in Kabul is the worst I have ever seen. Here's a video created by the Army Safety Center to prepare soldiers for driving in Afghanistan's urban areas.
Jeez Louise! That is some insane driving! Somebody ought to turn that into a video game...Grand Prix Afghanistan! Probably make a ton of money. Maybe you could sell it to the military for training purposes like the tank simulators. Something to think about...
Stay safe out there all you drivers!

That video was shown to us at Camp Shelby prior to our arrival some 11 months ago. Although a good piece I have to say that was shot on a day of light traffic. They should see it when it's wall to wall Jingle trucks. Keep up the great work, I enjoy the posts. Almost out of here, only 30 days and a wake up. Be Safe,
Capt Templeton, USAF

Rather actually! I've been in many countries, including several in the Third World, and the driving in Kabul is the worst I have ever seen. Here's a video created by the Army Safety Center to prepare soldiers for driving in Afghanistan's urban areas.
