Three lists for your list-reading pleasure!

Just a small list of lists. You know. For kids. (okay, not for kids. DO NOT READ THE 15 WORST COMICS LIST TO YOUR CHILDREN. JUST DON'T DO IT. TRUST ME.)

Newsarama has the confusingly named "Animated Shorts: Best of 2009 - Movies" (these are full length features) list! It's full of great things, like "Coraline"! This one is for kids. Mostly.

Comics Alliance has the 15 Worst Comics of the Decade (with a surprise appearance by a classic!), not to be confused by their 15 Best Comics of 2009 which, my goodness, is full of people who live or have lived in Kansas City! KC's obviously the place to be!

My personal list of things I enjoyed in 2009 (so...four lists for your list-reading pleasure!):

Bacon Explosion (another KC invention! Go KC!)

Snow! (still positive on the snow. Ask me again after I shovel for the third time this week)

"Red Cliff" (it's a movie)

Office snacks (is there anything as delicious as random snacks? I say no!)

Kittens (perennial favorite)

Remembering to go to the library! (like Netflix! For books! And free! And you have to actually go there!)

There you go. Lists! Hooray!

Noted caricaturist David Levine has died.

The New York Times has an obituary and a wonderful slideshow of Levine's work.

Mouse Guard RPG Update

Remember when I said I'd keep you posted on how Mouse Guard as an RPG worked out? Well, here's the update: I have nooo idea. Schedules have been such that no Mouse Guard could truly be played in 2009. In fact, aside from ASL (Advanced Squad Leader - crazy-scariest of all tactical-level board games, which took more than an hour to set up, and then nearly four hours to play the SIMPLEST SCENARIO THEREOF), my board gaming was pretty standard, really. Perhaps 2010 will be better for Mouse Guard.

Obviously the new logo takes the old U and adds a sort of drop-shadowed U underneath it. Now, there are three eyes to watch you .... always watching ... never blinking ... seeing you in your most vulnerable moments ... waiting patiently ... and then it strikes!

Wow! Two of my favorite things that start with "G": Garfield and Galifianakis! (apologies to Guisewhite, Gilligan, Gammill, gold, Ginger Snaps, GoComics, Grant (both Ulysses and Lou), Glynns to numerous to mention, Grumpier Old Men (the sequel), etc.

I'd also like to take this moment to dispel the story that seems to be circulating as to the origins of my nickname. The reason I'm called "The Irish Sweater" has nothing to do with clothes ... but rather a duct issue I was born with.
