Susan Nicholson is a columnist, cookbook author, television personality and a consultant in the area of food and nutrition. Her weekly syndicated column, 7-Day Menu Planner, is a practical, quick, healthy eating guide for budget-minded families. The 7-Day Menu Planner now has a circulation of over 6 million readers. It began in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution in 1995.
Known for her humorous down-to-earth style and creative healthy recipes, Susan has appeared more than 125 times on Atlanta network television and on CNN, TNN and The Discovery Channel. She also has participated in many radio interviews.
Before Susan began writing the 7-Day Menu Planner, she owned and operated a microwave specialty store and cooking school. She attended the La Varenne, Ecole de Cuisine in Paris. Her book, Save Your Heart With Susan Six Easy Steps to Cooking Delicious Healthy Meals in a Microwave, was published in January 1991 (Wm. Morrow and Co.) She is currently working on a new book. The 7-Day Menu Planner for Dummies will be published October, 2010.
Prior to her full-time culinary endeavors, Susan held regional sales positions with Mead Johnson's Nutritional Division, and the Marriott Corp.'s Contract Food Services Division.
Susan is a registered and licensed dietitian and a member of the American Dietetic Association, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, while also a founding member and past president of the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier. She is listed in the 23rd edition of Who's Who in the South.
Susan is a native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and now lives in Atlanta.
