HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL, THE VHS EDITION
For about a DECADE a store in my neighborhood has had this rack of VHS cassettes on the sidewalk outside its window.
NO ONE HAS EVER BOUGHT ONE.
THE SAME CASSETTES ARE THERE DAY AFTER MONTH AFTER YEAR.
The sad thing is: it's on a movable rack. Someone has to drag it out onto the sidewalk every morning, and then lug it back into the store at closing time, knowing full well that nobody has bought one of these things, and whatever approaching-zero chance there was of a purchase 10 years ago, technology format changes and sun damage have moved that chance to drop-dead, certain, ABSOLUTE ZERO PERCENT CHANCE.
