It's been revealed that Richard Thompson and his transcendent Cul De Sac have been nominated for the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award. The Reuben, of course, is the top peer-elected award in our industry.
If you're unfamiliar, shame on you. Check him out here. Buy his books here and bask as an insider to his world on his blog here.
Now, I can think of some comics that might be AS worthy as Cul De Sac, but few if any, that are more worthy. Congrats, Richard. We're awful proud to be associated with this great feature and even more to be associated with you ... a helluva great guy.

"transcendent" is the right word. It's the best comic I've ever read. And that includes Schulz, Watterson, Larsen, Evans ...

It is a combination of delightful art and divine writing. Great characters and odd circumstances.

I was joking about Evans BTW.

I predict a Thompson sweep this year...comic strip category and Reuben award.
Remember, you heard it here first! Richard is da man!

Yes, well-deserved nomination! I hope I will be able to be there this year to see it.
