Find that comic -- January 14th!
Hi folks, it's time for FIND THAT COMIC! That's right -- the international game sensation that's been called "The Card Sharks with host Bert Convy" of comics' finding games!
Today's art is taken from a strip on GoComics January 14, 2009. The first correct comment will get to pick the next episode's of FTC and be given the opportunity to blog/promote (subject to corporate approval) on virtually any comics related topic they wish.
Are you ready!?
But before we begin: Today's pick is from Danny Burleson of Oy Comics fame ... Danny do you have anything to add?
Danny: Yep, this is your good pal, Danny Burleson of the Oy comic strip... Wait a second! What am I doing here on the editor's blog? I'm not an editor, nor am I even affiliated with Universal Press Syndicate (unless you count my collection of rejection slips; I was CERTAIN "A Boy and His Endearing Puppy" was gonna be a hit!)
My claim to picking today's comic comes from the fact that I correctly guessed the answer to the last Find That Strip contest (in about 6 minutes, in fact. Thank you, timely RSS feed!)
Let's see if anyone can beat my record with today's comic strip snippet:
The Rules:
1) It's from today (01/14/2009), and
2) You can find it on gocomics.com
The winner is the first one to respond in the comments with the correct answer.
And real quick, before the awards music starts playing...
I've been cartooning in some capacity since the late 80's due to my potentially brain damaging fascination with Calvin and Hobbes. It got worse in the mid-nineties when I made a character out of a squiggle named "Oy", while simultaneously getting a different comic series published in my local paper's weekly teen section. Then came the "dark days" in the late 90's through early 00's, which have been strategically omitted from this post in the name of being uplifting.
Then in 2007, at the insistence of my wife, I launched "Oy" as an online comic strip. Oy is about a green, guy/creature who makes the lives of his friends, Steve & Mina Harker, just a little more interesting. At least, when he's not hanging out with his human girlfriend Claret. Basically, with Oy, you never know what's gonna happen!
The Oy comic strip is published daily over at: http://oycomics.com , and comes highly recommended by its creator. "Oy: Year One", the first Oy book collection, is available now at: https://www.createspace.com/3356672
-Thanks, Dan. Good luck to all.
